I don’t have exact part number for the mirrors as it really isn’t necessary, infact both my mirrors were from different donor vehicles L319/L320 but they’re all identical apart from the “door mount” part.
If the mirror has a HSD harness and Fakra then it’s a proximity mirror and the one you need to match L359. MY15

Correct I understand, that L320 is Range Rover Sport L320?

Discovery 4 or Range Rover Sport MY13 or earlier have same mirror as Freelander 2👍 MY15

Rear surround camera installed and operational



I now can select the rear camera at any time from either “Extra Features menu” or by the “shortcut softkey”.

Park Distance Control and Guidance is a little bit different to my fixed camera version. Seems a little more clumsy to the fixed camera version but probably more my unfamiliarity with the slightly different format. PDC seemed to zoom in and out which was a little unfamiliar.

Now able to have the rear camera selected “on the move”. This is going to be very useful as I’ve run another HSD line to the rear hitch which means once I’ve installed a camera on a trailer I can have this connected instead of the tailgate camera and have a view from behind without relying on side mirrors, more on this later.



All the floor harnesses and engine bay harnesses have already been layed so now my attention will move to the completed wing mirror cameras installation and the front bumper camera holders.

Hi Stuart, I’m visiting from the RRS forum and would like to ask if you can tell me the CCF file you changed to activate the surround stystem. I was told it couldn’t be done but you’ve got it sorted!! My GAP IID Tool can activate corner cameras but its obviously missing something. What diagnostic tool are you using as I’m thinking of trading in the GAP tool for something a little more useful.

I would have PMd but I need 3 posts for that.

I’m using SDD.
The surround camera system is part of the parking aid system so you need to make sure you have all the fields active for front & rear park aid as well as IPMB active.
You have the IPMB on the CAN?

Thanks for the reply, I’ve got parking aids already installed from factory and I’ve made sure it’s all activated in the CCF. I don’t have the module on the CAN BUS as yet as I was hoping to enable it first to make sure I could do it before buying all the cabling (Although I have managed to buy the green power connector and pins for £4 from RS components). I’ve located the power connection which is present from fuse box to body link harness so just need to get a pin for that. I’ve located the earth but I still need to find the BUS connections (I know where they are).

My GAP IID tool doesn’t look like it can activate it so I’ve been looking at this tool

Is this what you use? It’s a lot cheaper than a GAP but but appears to do much more. I wish I’d seen it first!!

On a side note, I have 2016 Discovery 4 mirrors fitted that I rebuilt with new parts (And 6 pin cameras) from a new set of L405 mirrors. I bought a corresponding late discovery 4 camera module as I’m pretty sure the 2014 to 16 Discovery 4 has the same databus as the 2012 sport so it should work. I would also need to find the JAE camera leads as JAE don’t sell the connectors on their own Typically.

Ok, I’m flying blind here as you’re not giving me all the info.
Firstly, as I understand it you have a MY12 L320 and your fitting Discovery mirrors which use the 6 pin camera’s? You will have problems with this as the camera’s are designed to work with curtain IPMB’s which use a completely different CAN architecture.
If you want this to have any change of working you’ll need to use IPMB of same era as your vehicle and matching camera as they are SW specific.
You will need to have the IPMB in the network before you get any submenu’s as the IPMB controls all FCDIM functionality of the Surround Camera System.
My Understanding is you have no camera softkey at present on the FCDIM?
Again, if you have MY12 L320, your park aid system (CAN related) will not show on FCDIM, problem being mentioned above.
I use a DA-Dongle as my pass through which is a JLR approved. Beware of any copies as they’re unreliable and you don’t want any issues when your flashing modules/Ccf. MY15

Stuart, you must be running out of things to automate

I'm awaiting Automatic Speed Limiting (ASL), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), blind spot monitoring and a few more, plenty for StuartC to be working on

Actually ASL is easy, already identified fields only problem is that L359 doesn't have a switch to turn it off/on. Adaptive cruise ditto except no on/off switch necessary and blind spot no problem either just need to find a mirror glass to fit L359 wing mirror with icon in it, L322 maybe?
Vanny as you have had a recently humiliating aah, mmm, slight faulse start with a retrofit I think you need to redeem yourself  MY15

ACC needs at least a radar, if not vision cameras for later systems, probably not easy in the least. I assume ASL is in the gearbox ECU so might be trickier than it sounds.
