Some BMW’s have problems with leaking Gell from mirrors that control functions. Pretty sure you will need a compatible mirror. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I find that when on auto, the lights will come on just driving through a shadow. They will then stay on unless you drive into direct sunlight. I had a trickle of the gel down the screen some months ago & it has made no difference to how the lights react.

“Auto Lights” is not just dependant on the sensor, vehicle speed and whether the wipers are activated are part of the algorithm. MY15

Same with mine, although it does seem to vary a bit, but no gel anywhere to be seen, however this started when I had the windscreen replaced. J |
