You may be on to something here. My engine feels generally rougher than it used to. One garage I spoke to diagnosed it over the phone as 'definitely engine' and he has a good reputation. Anyway, it's going in to Roean in Telford on Thursday for a day. They couldn't find anything wrong with the transmission in a one-hour diagnosis last week. Nigel |

I’ve just bought an electronic stethoscope kit with 6 clamps to put in various places of possible vibes and hopefully finally find the 100% cause of this . Will post as soon as I’ve had time to have a go with it .. |

Driveshafts do seem ok however where the driveshaft sits into the gearbox on the pass side there is quite a lot of movement up and down and I am thinking this is where the vibration is coming from .. hopefully this device will pick it up will let you know ... |

Just to update changed front nearside driveshaft and has made no difference to my vibration so it’s something else and I’m now accepting it’s never to be found so just going to forget it and drive a bit different maybe in sport mode all the time . If anyone does find a solution please share thanks . |

My rear drive shafts clicked from new and never sorted by dealers under warranty, seems to have finally stopped or maybe I just do not let it bother me anymore. Sometimes you just have to let things develop to find the culprit. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years FL2 MY13 TD4 GS Current |
