Central Locking Problem

My 62 plate car (2013 model) has developed a fault with the central locking this past week.
It locks fine no problem, but when I come to unlock it doesn't do so - one press of the remote does nothing other than fold out the mirrors - to unlock the drivers door takes a couple of extra prods of the remote and to unlock the rest of the doors takes 4,5,6 or more atempts.
Any ideas??
Hard Reset maybe and see what happens.

It could also be that the buttons on the fob are not working well and the internals may need a referb.

If you have a second key does this have the same problem ?

If your key case is old go for a new one (change both maybe) . Swap over internals and add new battery.

Key case is new.
New battery fitted.
Every time you press unlock on the remote the car registers with a clunk or whatever but the doors don't unlock.
I'll try the second fob - but I don't see this being the issue quite honestly.

Hi all
Can you tell me, did you get to the bottom of this please?

I have a similar problem where my Drivers door no longer unlocks on the first press of the remote.
The mirrors unfold but the door stays locked.
A second press unlocks the drivers door Along with all the others too.

Any suggestions welcome
Thanks Brgds

Disconnect the battery and do a hard reset (hold battery leads together for 10 minutes) put back together and follow instructions in your handbook that tells you the options on key / door opening options. May sort it out. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I’ve got a similar issue. Press button, hear clunk but door doesn’t unlock. However, catch the door handle quickly enough it is initially unlocked.

The issue seems that pressing it unlocks the door but for some reason (fault to diagnose) it locks itself again. Only by pressing fob lots of times
Does it eventually settle in an unlocked state.

The drivers door accuentor (door lock motor) is new the rest are old.

Any ideas? '09 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto

Thanks all
I’ve tried the hard reset, still the same.
I’ve got a feeling it may be the drivers door locking mechanism, possibly the dead lock sticking.
It seems ok when I do a single press to lock but when I press twice to deadlock it takes a few goes before it unlocks the drivers door. Brgds

I’ve replaced the drivers door lock actuator today, all looks good now.

There are a couple of videos on you tube on how to do the job that give a good start but I found that removing the window for access to be much better, it takes 5 minutes and it’s totally out of the way.
The videos show them trying to disconnect the cables to the actuator while it’s still inside the door but I found that if you remove the external door handle first then the whole lot comes out of the door with the cables still connected. You can then do the fiddly job of swapping the cables over when it’s on the bench.

Thanks to all for their advice. Brgds

Looks like I'm going to have to replace the drivers door lock as well.
It's been ok for several weeks but now playing up again.
When you lock the car now, single or double lock, the indicators don't flash but the mirrors fold in - then after a few seconds the car emits a blip, blip sound which is different to normal.
Trying the doors after locking - all good apart from the drivers door which you can open - setting off the alarm.
Not the best scenario.
So new lock it is I think.
Can't say I'm looking forward to the changing of it - but at least I've got a workshop full of tools to help.

Different symptoms to mine but sounds like it could be the lock, did you try a hard reset suggested above out of interest? Brgds
