Sticking clutch pedal

Thought I'd post here as well. I know each Land Rover / fl2 is unique, but has anybody at all had a sticking clutch pedal at top of travel? I've had master cylinder replaced about 2000 miles ago and was fine for quite a while, but is now sticking again. I had to hook it back this morning to get it back to resting place

Hi.

I had something similar after my clutch was replaced earlier in the year. An O-ring was incorrectly installed so there was a weeping of fluid and loss of hydraulic pressure. It has not happened again since this was fixed.

Have you checked for any leaking hydraulic fluid? You might also be able to see a drop in the brake fluid reservoir liquid level.

Hope this helps.

To be honest, I've not looked under the bonnet at the reservoir, but my local Indy is having a look tomorrow morning. They've relubed bits and bobs in the past and it helped for a short while. Its been fine for 2-3000 miles after the master cylinder was replaced , but has started again. I'd have thought a misplaced O ring might have shown up earlier, but thanks for input.
I really hope its not the slave cylinder, but the indy who replaced the master had a look in the gearbox with a boroscope and said there was no evidence of leaks at the time . Its only done 50000 miles - a lot of motorway as well

Suspected slight leak from slave cylinder = potential whole new clutch assembly in near future ! 50000 miles !! Not impressed. It's likely that the sticking went after the master cylinder was replaced just because the clutch had been bled, so might not have needed new master at all??

I suppose these modern internal clutch slave cylinders are better in one way ie no lever arm and couplings to wear out, but they are a PITA when the only problem is a leaking seal.

Ive just changed the clutch slave on my series 3 - £9 inc P&P and 30 mins to fit. Jules

Mmmm. Seems incredible that a small cheap seal can lead to a gearbox out fix 😬 A lot of my journeys are stop / start motorways....but 50000 miles.😝😝😝 How can such things as brake pads last longer than a major clutch component
