Jules, No need for apologies, you have contributed a lot to Freel2. I've learned a lot from this site and I just want to share what I've discovered in case it is helpful to others. In fact I've learned a lot more than I contributed (but that's a secret don't tell anyone) I had no idea that automotive manufacturers were using Freewheel style pulleys until the belt on my 2009 Audi started bouncing around and I looked into the possible causes. (I replaced the Freewheel pulley but the belt still bounced too much so I also replaced the tensioner and now its very happy) This lead me to investigate if Land Rover also used a freewheel pulley and that is when I found out that there are two!!! I would like to tell you that I am a Genius and that I know everything about my LR2 but as Mark Twain correctly pointed out "Better to close your mouth and let them think you a fool than to open it and remove all doubt" Happy Motoring Paul |

Up till midnight last night and another hour before work this morning and I have now replaced both over run clutches (alternator and serpentine side), new thermostat while I was in there and new oil cooler to block hose (just as well on both accounts as the plastic for both items was disintegrating and both fell apart when removing them!!!)

Paul, do you have a part number for the PCV? What goes wrong with them, do you think it can be fixed or is it replace only? |
