Friend of mine just got nobbled by a mobile unit sitting at the roadside looking for all the world like a roadworks type vehicle, orange lights on the roof, plastic barriers, guys outside the van wearing hi-vis, no police or speed partnership signage in sight. ![]() As he went past the van he saw the camera in the fully open back doors, to late to do anything. That was Monday lunch time, Thursday morning the letter arrive bang, 36 in a 30. He's elected to take the 1 day course at a cost of £110 instead of the points on his licence. He said it was the cheapest option. Apparently the going rate is £100 per point among the cash strapped student population ![]() ![]() ![]() Company cars ... a thing of the past - May 2013. |

I'd be interested to find a sytem that can 'accurately' tell you the limit on the road you're travelling on, given that signage is often cr4p! My TomTom 720 has some limits programmed in BUT probably only covers 1/3 of all roads and of those that it does cover then half of them are wrong !!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Company cars ... a thing of the past - May 2013. |

my Nuvi250 seems to know all the speed limits of the roads I've travelled on, even the ones in France.

It might not work, often you need the correct lead for your product, I tried a similar arrangement for my garmin and the garmin thinks its connected to a pc and goes into usb mode. I remember scotster having similar problems, I think there is some electric trickery in the proper plug? At work |
