Fitted new rear discs I blagged for little money on Ebay a few weeks ago. Had new pads to hand (Girling from Andrew Page today and cheap) but decided to clean up ones fitted as plenty of meat left on old set. As I also got a litre of Dot 4 brake fluid for next no money ran some through the brake lines as well.

Presently on holiday on Holy Island so took advantage of the lovely weather and drove to Seahouses where we took a boat across to the bird colony that is the Farne Islands. Magical. |

Over last few days, I have renewed front wheel bearings, wishbones and track rod ends (both sides) I had a rumble noise and suspected the front OS side bearing, took it to halfrauds for a free diagnostic and they suggested front NS bearing.

I will take some grill photos soon. Took a trip to Bristol and averaged 35 mpg at mostly 82mph on cruise control, cost about 75quid in fue there and backl, on my 3rd tank of Costco premium diesel and the car seems to love it. REME .. Rough Engineering Made Easy |

Popped a EGR blanking plate in my 2007 TD4 Auto last night in the dark - drive to work this morning was notibly smoother. Not going to call it on a 15mile journey, but dash is reading 34mpg (and it's always been within 0.5mpg to my calculated), up from the normal 30 All thanks to you guys, never would have known to do it without reading here. |

Today I was going to wrap the D pillars but it was far to hot outside to have kept the vinyl in a manageable condition, so I wrapped the aluminium bits along the mid dash and gear shift surround instead. Also meshed the high level tailgate brake light. REME .. Rough Engineering Made Easy |

Drove Swansea to Liverpool to drop daughter for exams in Uni, 4 1/2 hours, then drove back home, 4 1/4 hours, 41 mpg, quite pleased with that. |

Today? Left it parked while I had my first ever shot in a hybrid (Toyota Yaris) Couldn’t understand why pressing the button didn’t start the engine.... Got it going eventually and drove off for 134 miles down the west. Verdict: great car in town, ok on big roads, not great on the single-track roads (wish I had realised I could switch off the eco mode...) and boy did I enjoy getting back into the FL2! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

Mot next week so swapped my black rims with GG AT's over for my Evoque rims with Pirelli Scorpion Verde's. GG's N/S front is very worn on the shoulder. However I have noticed that the Verde's give a rather harsher ride, small bumps feel like massive pot holes. They were bought last January , new take offs. If I can get a pair of GG AT's for a good price I'll put my black rims back on. |
