During the really cold spell my car struggled to start in so far as at -5 the engine was misfiring/running rough for about 30 seconds or so. I think I might have a failed glow plug. Having searched on here I read that when investigating glow plugs you might aswell just change them all when you consider the labour time involved. My car isn’t due a service until November so I was just wondering, if any more plugs fail will the car still start ok in the warmer weather or will I notice a problem with the car starting? Had the same with mine. At -5C it just would not start, ended up with a flat battery. However, a little more turning over (courtesy of jump leads from my wife's car!), got it going.

I had a Citoren ZX that developed poor starting and rough running for a few seconds and it was down to one glowplug that needed changing (it was open circuit). I haven't looked at the FL2 setup but you should be able test plugs with a multimeter without removing them as their resistance is pretty low. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Yes, I am on the original battery. Thinking about it, it’s probably worth changing the battery before next winter. My previous FL2 had a battery that was failing, it was slow to crank. This time the car cranked fine, the engine was just rough for 20-30 seconds after firing up. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

From what I’ve read on here after searching glow plugs by the time you get to the glow plugs to test them you might aswell change the plugs as apparently it’s a ball ache to get to them. I’m no mechanic so there might be a way of testing them with out removing engine covers etc. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker. Go for a high capacity battery in September when prices are going to be better than December. A test will tell you if one is failed but they may be fine. Mine coughed just one morning for a few seconds this Winter but it was genuine brass monkey weather so not panicking about having a glow plug failure, I have a new battery.

TBH we’ll probably not get a winter like this for a few years so I’ll probably be ok. I will change the battery this year. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
