Tablet modifications and heat

Hi all. Been thinking about putting a tablet into the car for ages and know many of you have managed to wedge a 7" tablet into the dash cubby.

I've always wondered though, have any of you had any long term issues with the device being so close to the 2 air vents on either side, especially during cold weather when you likely have the heater running? I've left a few things in the cubby before and after longer journeys in the cold they can become pretty warm.

Cheers. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

I don't have a tablet in the cubby hole but do have a small 7" garmin sat nav in there .
It does get warm but so far does not seem to have any issues with overheating.

I posted details of a car audio company that does this

So it is very possible to do.

Thanks CJ. Yeah, I've seen quite a few different options but have decided if I do any form of modding it'll be to put some form of Android device in the cubby. I just wondered if anyone had found the heat from the surrounding air vents and their ducting to be a problem. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
