Hey guys,

I was playing in ebay and i found out about something that looks interesting and probably many of you might be interested. This is about some small car magnets you can use to increase your fuel economy and engine performance and this looked to be interesting so i googled it a bit and found out a lot of interesting things but thinking of it i can't understand how would this make a difference (i am a hard believer). Anyone in here that has used this things? or at least has some automotive background to let us know of what he things???

I once heard someone claim that they saw a demonstration with a cigarette lighter where the size of the flame increased when one such magnet was brought close. I suspect it might have been the effect of the magnetic field on the valve or some 'slight of hand' by the demonstrator.
The theory is that, supposedly, the magnetic field polarises the molecules in the fuel in the same direction rather than randomly. This leads to a more efficient burn. What effect a magnetic field can have on a carbon based fuel, I wouldn't like to say - chemistry wasn't my strong point. While I remain very sceptical, there are still aspects of magnetism that even the most brilliant scientists can't actually explain. As such, I wouldn't like to entirely disregard the possibility that there might be something in it.
It's very likely b0ll0cks but easy enough to experiment with. I wouldn't be paying anyone for magnets though.

I had endless correspondence from a firm selling magnets for the gas lines to my chicken shed heaters, they claimed to have extensive trail results proving the effectiveness of the product but I didn't believe a word of it. At work

So Bader's big wing owed its success to magnets then. Whilst Gerry was labouring under the false impression the 109 had to be smoke free, old Dougie was ruling the skies with swarf free engines.
