Bought my first Freelander 2 yesterday, a Stornoway Grey 2009 GS TD4 manual. Not my first Landy, had a few Defenders over the years and also a '57 Series 1........wish I'd kept that one

Hi from sunny Cape Town - actually a terrible 3 year drought, but never mind...I've just bought a black FL2 HSE A/T with beige leather seats and have spent the weekend customising it - well, fixing niggles really - replaced two fuses and finding I don't have nearly as many nooks and crannies as I did in the Disco 2 (ES 2003) - got a great 260k km out of that and hoping for as much if not more from the FL2 (170k on the clock currently). If anyone knows of someone with access to a scrap FL2 vehicle with the beige trim, there are a few odds and ends I need:)

I have a D5 and sold the D4 and until recently had a Freelander 1 until some git decided to jump a give way in front of me which meant bye bye FL1 so I’m now on the look out for a FL2 so am trying to gather the wealth of knowledge from the FL2 forum before I dip my toe on my next purchase

Just wanted to say hello.

We nervously changed from a much loved early Doscovery 2 that had been in the family from new to a Freelander 2 about a year ago. So far been very impressed with it. We tow a 1800Kg caravan and were a bit concerned it might be too heavy for the Freelander. In fact it tows better than the Discovery. It's more powerful and definitely more stable. Quite a surprise. With the rear seats folded the load space is almost the same footprint as the Discovery all be it without the height, so all our paraphernalia that we take with us on a long trip fits just as well in the Freelander.

It also stomped out through Beast From The East snow that was higher than its floor here, remarkably well, all be it on winter tyres but without chains. Seems very capable. Comfortable on motorways too and so much quieter than the Discovery.

I have come across this forum before and have to admit to using info from it to fix the sender connector inside the fuel tank and complete a full B service. Anyway. Thought it was about time I joined!

Milltime Hi, being at that age just work out if you have swirl flaps (late cars do not). If so convert out of them.  FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
