That feels like twice what I'm getting, maybe its a plan to get some LR genuine ones next time around then.

After the first lot I just replace them in pairs now, when the first goes the other won't be far behind! |

3 weeks now since one of mine went. Other cant be far behind . About 20000 miles from a pair with genuine LR ones. No idea who makes them for LR but they come in a nice box with bubble wrap round them 😄 |

Anyone here fitted LED headlight bulbs? I have a 2013 HSE SD4. Have only had it for just over a year and getting fed up with changing bulbs so I'm researching going LED. They're expensive, I know, but offer a much greater light output and longer life. |

I did not find anyone who was successful with LED bulbs. Some people installed a HID kit and are happy with it, like here http://www.freel2.com/forum/post321825.html#321825. Others took the plunge and installed original xenon headlights. |

Think you'll find a long list on here that people have had from various places with the same low success rate. I just took a tip off here and use my front fogs If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny. 🐑 Freelander 2 HSE auto 2014 ( Florrie ) ..... Try again. Freelander 2 GS 2012...... Gone. |

I'm just on my 3rd set after 45000 miles. Fitted genuine lr (which are (Philips) . Indy asked me whether I had had the 'fix' or something done when I went to buy the bulbs, as he guessed they were for fl2. I said they last about 20000 miles, so he suggested mine wasn't a problem one. |

On the 2014 there is only one bulb (HB3) for dipped and full beam, the unit uses a shutter to change the pattern. There is no "dipped beam". I replaced one on my 2014 at 26kmiles 3 yrs and this week at 34k and a year later the other side went. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto 5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE |

So the dealer didnt offer the LR resistance wire fix (bodge*) before the warranty ran out - typical. Its been out for a while but I only found out about it recently too. * it just reduces current (hence heat build up) to the bulbs ( they must therefore get dimmer too I suppose) - The design is very poor frankly and I presume undertake to save costs. Not a problem one !!! Thats still awful bulb longevity IMO I upgraded quite early to Night breakers because the OEM were so dim compared to my other non-HID cars and then I discovered the heat build up problem - the Night breakers last about 10-15K miles Jules |
