There are companies that can reface your discs whilst they are still on the car. https://skimmydiscs.co.uk 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Time v money. It’s does not need to be like a new disc, removing slag is all that’s required as you the champher the new or old pad (slightly) on fitting. If you want a 100% shinny finish get new. But why waste money on that when you could be up the fell with lavishing it on FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years FL2 MY13 TD4 GS Current |

With not using the FL2 for several weeks I was amazed yesterday to find the rear discs now looking very corroded. MOT is due in a few weeks and visually they look like a dogs dinner so ...............

Discs will look rusty even if just left overnight, take it for a run and then have a look at them, braking while reversing will accelerate the cleaning process. |

i noticed today that the brakes only seem to start squealing after they have warmed up, when I was off to work this morning they weren't squealing until I had been driving for 5 minutes or so (same yesterday and Saturday), Any ideas if this gives any pointers ? thanks |

My brakes squeal, but only at a certain speed with a certain amount of pressure on the pedal - when braking from 15mph to a stop. It doesn't do it for a couple of days after I've washed the car so I guess it's poor quality/cheap pads that were fitted by the previous owner, still plenty of life in them. |

The brake pads on the FL2 do NOT have separate shims.
