HRT Sport grill Silver or gloss Black?

Hi guys and gals

I have a Hippo HST which I love, I'm looking to play with some of the external bits that I'm itching to change however I'm unsure about the grill. It is loosing a little of the silver coating so time to tidy it up but I'm feeling that the front would look meaner if the grill is painted gloss black. I plan to get gloss black mirror caps and door handle covers plus vinyl wrap the D pillars in gloss black too so the rear window looks like it merges with the rear side windows so the grill would match these items.

What do people think? I realise style is totally individual I'm just interested in others opinions and thoughts Very Happy

I've blacked out on of my photo's to show the general idea.

Cheers in advance Very Happy

IMO, You should've considered a 'facelift' grill to your options.

I'd go with No3. Thumbs Up FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

I do like the facelift grill however do you not need a full bumper change as the facelift grill doesn't cut into the top of the bumper?

If this is true I would loose the HST front and Im not sure how a Sport front end would look with the HST sides and rear.

That is exactly how I feel about it the black seems to tidy up the front end and add some aggression Cool

Have you got any uploaded photos of your colour coded D pillers? Ive not really thought of doing that I was going to gloss black them to try and 'loose' them into wrap around glass. Another option now think about Laughing

It is indeed going to stay for the foreseeable future I have somewhat fallien in love with her Very Happy
I realise they can be expensive but I have hopefully fire proofed her somewhat as she has a new DMF and clutch kit fitted when I bought her, I then had the 10 year service with an extended rear axle service completed when I got her. My mech went over her with a comb when its was in bits and he says she is solid with no obvious issues as yet.

Fingers crossed Wink

HST and Sport/Dynamic are exactly the same sides and rear. The only difference between the two kits is the 3 front pieces, but yes you'd need a whole new bumper to change to a facelift grille.

Ah thank you I didn't realise they were the same apart from the front sections, I will remember that because eventually I would like to face lift her with the rear lights and boot handle so maybe facelift the front end too with the bumper, grill and lights.

So many ideas to play with my wallet is aching Rolling with laughter If your going through hell, keep going!

Dam! That is one good looking Freelander you have there and the pillars look great, looking closely at them I'm not sure if they will look as good with my Zermatt silver though. A great looking machine mate. Thumbs Up If your going through hell, keep going!

So

Black won out so grill has been painted 😀

Very happy with it at the moment and I do believe it does make the front look meaner while taking some years of her. Home facelift for my Hippo 😀

On to the next tinker Very Happy
