Freelander i6 LPG

Hi, I've recently bought a FL2 petrol with a desire to convert to LPG. I found a company in the west midlands called AUTOGASPOL who will do this for a very reasonable price. the question is are they reputable and has anyone out there a better idea of who they could recommend?

I have had quotes from £950 to over £2000, and reading reviews of all of the suppliers they are mixed, leaving me wondering what to do?

Had a conversion on a Volvo xc70 by these guys a few years ago, done in a day, no problems, good back up, 18 months later a injector packed up and they replaced it free of charge.

Also had dealings with this guy, seams very well informed, sorted out a Ford Maverick that I bought already converted.

As the car is already 10 years old how long do you expect to keep it to just the amortised cost of the conversion over your expected milage with the saving in fuel also factoring in more LPG per mile.

Thanks for the concern, I was planning to keep the car a LONG time, the break even point is less than 12 months with the lowest quote I have had, should I rack the mileage higher for any reason then even the most expensive estimate would be covered in two years. Normally i run my cars till they give upon me completely so I was expecting the savings to be significant over the life of the vehicle.

It's a BRC which is possibly the one systems Autogaspol fit, I've had the car for about 8 months with no lpg problems.
Biggest problem with lpg and Freelander 2 is the spare wheel, I've strapped mine upright to the back of the double rear seat. Common sense isn't very common.

I've had lpg cars for about 20 years and never had to pay more for insurance, some times you may find a firm that won't cover them, most now insisted that they must be fitted by a lpg approved fitter and recorded on http://www.drivelpg.co.uk/advice-and-infor...-register/ Common sense isn't very common.

Thanks for the info Axle, I have checked and the company could fit the BRC system for 250 more than the original quoted system. I think at that price its worth going for it, based on the maths, however id like to hear more about the company before I part with a years worth of savings. I'm also comfortable that the insurance wont be punitive, it is becoming common to have LPG on board, it wont be as big a problem as Hydrogen might be in future!! Freelander 2 3.2 I6 SE
