My FL2 had its first service the other week, so I checked at the weekend to see if the PTC fuse had been pulled Nope - it is still in place. As my ID number falls within the group that needs the fix, I enquired again at the dealers/service station and they still know nothing about recall P011 .

So at least here in sunny winter Norway I guess we can keep the PTC heater working until it catches fire  2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Got my FL2 in September and as it's taking an age to warm up these cold mornings thought I'd check with Lloyd Land Rover.
They removed the fuse on PDI and hope to have mod. in January. (I wonder when they where going to get round to telling me!)
I mentioned that it was taking a long time for the Heater to get warm and was told nobody else had mentioned that! Standard answer No. !

On these cold and frosty mornings I have to drive mine at least 5 miles before the water temp is up to normal, whereas the wife's little petrol car is up to temp within the first mile. Not sure if it's FL2 related or whether diesel engines take longer to warm up  ______________________

No I think it's our Freelander, my previous diesel cars where all warm in a couple of miles.
Probably why they decided to fit a PTC Heater in the first place.

Experiance from last winter (down to -15c) the FL2 warmed up much quicker than the old petrol BMW. However it would seem that our models do have the Auxillary Heater and with useing the auto defrost setting it is ice free and warm as toast in several mins.  2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

all (or most) modern diesels take a long time to warm up from a cold start so the heater is a good thing, when working  At work

As I suspect a lot of you are, I am getting fed up with having to put up with the car taking an age to warm up in this weather, and we have got it a darn sight easier down south than some of the temperatures that I have been reading about up country.
The fuse on mine was pulled out back in September, so why haven't LR got their finger out and got their replacement heaters sorted. After all we all read about falling new car sales, therefore there should be some slack in the system for their suppliers to manufacture extra heaters to get the recalls sorted.
I bet they wouldnt let the same happen to owners of £70k RR Vogues......or would they?

At least the seats warm up to toast setting quickly

Thats true actually, but may be a problem if someone has a problem with the old chalfonts!

The same heater and its problems are also fitted to Jaguars and Volvos - I wonder if they get priority over us  2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Just to let everybody know (who have had their fuses pulled and wonder what their repaired vehicle will be like) that my FL PTC works just fine since it has been repaired (although it does take a little longer for the temp guage to get to its normal reading) and the heated seats are doing the business.

Just a note on the chassis number. Being bored and waiting in the LR dealer the other day I worked out that FA23 is the 2.2d engine and B28 means auto (B23 I think is manual). I am sure some ninja will tell me if I am right. The Hxxxxxx is just a serialised production number.  Freelander 2.2e HSE , Privacy, Fully debadged, 19" Chrome SHadow alloys

Good guess but not quite correct Mine is FA28 and a 2.2d manual  2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
