Hi from sunny Hastings, I've been hovering around on here for a while now and think it's time to post!

I've recently brought a 57 XS and couldn't of been happier until the "low coolant" warnings started on the way home from the garage where I brought it. Further investigation revealed a leaking heater matrix which I'm happy to say is being repaired and paid for entirely by the garage where I pitched the car thank god.

This is my second landy, the first being a 2000 disco 2 a few years ago.

I'm looking forward to doing a few mods after looking at some of your posts on here and giving me ideas lol

Hi,Got myself a FL2,HSE Auto (2012),yesterday. Got the radio tuned in,cd's loaded. I can't get the volume on the satnav,it's there,but very low. Must be a simple fix... This is probably the first of many questions.

Hello all!

After a test drive that put a big smile on my face, I've got a deposit down on a lovely blue FL2 SD4 Metropolis, which hopefully I'll be collecting next weekend.

I'd been looking at the DS but, very nice as it is, I just couldn't part with my money for one. The FL2 gave me exactly the feeling that was missing after driving the DS. This is my sort of vehicle!

This will be my first 4x4, trading in my Z4 that I've enjoyed (in a completely different way) for the last 5 years. I'm already looking forward to booking some events like the Keilder 4x4 Safari and one of the AllTerrainTours relaxed and scenic tours as my first introductions to going off-road. Then progress onto the Tong Parkwood 4x4 Centre. We've also got a road-trip over to Italy planned in summer.

Looking forward to becoming part of the family. Hopefully I'll be running my FL2 for a good few years to come!

I got the off roadng out of my system in Yorkshire and beyond driving Series land rovers that were a lot cheaper to put right than these babies. A metropolis is a really nice version, it will get you out of a sticky situation now and then on the highway but take it easy as it will cost heaps if you are serious about going on rough stuff. Like a Z4 there is no low ratio gearbox or diff locks.

Suggest you may need under belly guards as well to not wreck the fuel tank etc.

Thanks for the welcome and the advice Yorky Bob. I'll definitely be taking it easy and only doing events where they're explicitly saying my FL2 is capable. I just don't want to be one of those owners who never goes off road. But some light green laning sounds like great fun. The Keilder event is on fire lanes and they let soft-roaders on it, so fingers crossed.
