Yes, the extra bulge was fitted to the later models, but was not supplied in the replacement set I ordered. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

I have just bought a set too... both fronts the same but oddly enough, unlike the the other utterly knackered strips on three corners, the near side "extra bulge" strip was in perfect condition. A good wash to remove the mud and then refitted and you'd be hard pushed to know that it is three years older than the others.

That was true on mine as well. So between us we have two spare front strips. Anyone need them? Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

Wheel Arch Trim

hello all
just a thought before you go buying the trim from the dealers maybe you could save money by using this site in Germany that sells the trim by the length, cheap and cheerful.
if you use google chrome it will translate the site for you, hope you find it useful.

if i am right the original trim is 22mm wide, there is one in the site that goes up to 17mm so just short of 5mm can't see a problem using it.

Yes, but then you leave some of the wheel arch exposed which miss the purpose of it (protect from stones)

doesnt make a great deal of difference, infact the oem parts could be said to hold more muck and salt against the paintwork, especially when they get raggy At work

22mm on the outer face and 19mm on the inner. Mine lasted three years an cost £45 to replace with OEM. Just think of it as an extra £15 on each annual service.

Has anyone had their wheel arch trim strips replaced under warranty ?

My FL2 is not quite 3 years old and the rear strips are opening up and I wondered if I could get it replaced FOC before I search for a better non-OEM replacement.

This might be good http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Large-Rubber-U-C...Swjk9ZVmWc

doesnt have a metal insert to go rusty. Jules

My wheel arch trims are starting to be a bit crumpled at the ends There is advice on here to take them off altogether and treat with anticorrosion paint or something. Does this mean paint the sharp edges of the arch with something I wonder
