maybe they fixed the problem because in my car the volume is loud enough to my taste
it's even louder than in my previous car and that car didn't mute the radio as in the FL2

Freelander was in Tuesday and they are still awaiting the update, there is definately an issue with the initial cars.

Had the starting updated added, verdict is still out on whether this has worked as the freelander would not start after about 10 attempts in the petrol station last night Mad

I'm not saying there isn't a problem with the initial cars, but with mine it seems to be fine.
Mine was made in the factory on 01/05/2007, so only a couple of weeks ago.

Haven't experienced the non starting problem luckily.

I'm sure they'll solve those problems eventually

I've got my car 3rd of April. The parking sensor volume is just fine. I even have to turn it off after having parked 'cause it sounds quite loud and annoying. I believe it's a matter of personal taste (the volume I mean) or early models do have a problem. Sorry I haven't listened to an early one to judge.

The button is also useful to switch on the sensors without having to engage reverse gear, for example when driving forwards into a garage.

Mine was one of the early 7th Dec 06 issue cars (but I didnt buy it until mid Jan 07), volume of the sensor is very quiet, but four months on I've tuned my hearing into the slightest noise now, so the sensor noise is now just fine, I just don't get any sleep Rolling Eyes . I can now hear a hedgehog fart on the front lawn at 3.31am, the wifes IBS rumble in her stomache at 4.18am, my children sigh in their sleep at 5.27am and the dawn chorus just gets earlier and earlier....thank you Landrover! Sad

Well , after all this chat about parking sensors , I realised I haven't heard mine at all. But there again I haven't had cause to use them. So I went to play .. guess what nothing!
Turns out after a bit of routing around under the rear bumper , the muppets at the dealer when they fitted the towbar didn't bother to reconnect the sensors .. hmmm can you imagine if aircraft fitters behaved the same way!
Off to check the towbar electrics actually work now , I mean looks like testing doesn't play a part of the fitting procedure.

Shocked luckily you didn't need them or relied on them, otherwise you would have been in for a nasty surprise

I've always said that was one of the best reasons for having a towbar fitted. Other folks wouldn't nudge you when they were parking (well if they did they get a nice little ding in their bumper for their trouble), and hey thumping a brick wall with a tow bar never hurt anybody Smile

Oooopppps Embarassed

If it’s any consolation I’m off on a plane in a few weeks time too.

Don’t forget you’re much more likely to be involved in a road traffic accident than a plane crash !!

(Is any of the above helping ?)

Enjoy the Hols carlfraz Thumbs Up “You feel uneasy, as the mad scientist locks the door behind you & dissolves the key in a vat of Acid”
