I didn't unfortunately, as mine was 8 months old. But I have just bought a full size 20" wheel the same as on the car. I won't keep it in the car, as it never goes very far, and the Mrs can always call me if there is a puncture. I got the full size wheel for when we go on holiday with the caravan. Don't want to be left in the lurch in the middle of France with no spare!
Thats a very fair and valid point! I can't judge it against the full fat Disco as I have never owned one. But I can appreciate someone being underwhelmed if they are used to a D4 etc. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. I've just looked at the specification. They deserve to sell a few of these not exactly bargain basement, but sensibly priced and has everything you need if you are honest, unless of course you prefer an auto. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Think of the Pure as the DS version of the Freelander 'Black and White' edition.

It's not about price for me as far as DS is concerned - it's about lack of a phev version and quality control I'm reading good things about the Volvo XC90 T8 phev which may be my next vehicle or the Jag i-pace The DS is to get a MHEV with a 3 cylinder diesel ICE but I won't be interested because I can see problems with dpf and unrefined engine There is going to be a phev RRS but as the current hybrid is £80k+ expect it will be more expensive still so it is about price in this case - I could buy 3-4 Mitsubishi phev for the price and by time it's launched with an EV range in 20s the Mitsubishi will be capable of 75 http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars...brid-power http://www.hybridcars.com/mitsubishi-gt-ph...ation-suv/ Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW Still hoping for a S2 one day! |

Not a chance in hell CG I love the Outback. If I'd wanted a DS I'd have bought one just didn't suit my needs . I had BMW and Audi estates for years which suited me and my lifestyle. The Subaru has a boot as big as an A6 , rear legroom you could only dream about in a DS or Freelander , 200mm ground clearance and will do anything Off road I want to do to the point that I want to risk thirty odd grand of my own money. It is a brilliant thing to drive and will corner like it is on rails The modest 150 hp Diesel engine doesn't bother me it's more than enough, and the class leading driver aids package makes it very cheap to insure £ 230 a year fully comp, 20k miles a year. after nearly a year of owning it , I'm well sold on the AWD estate car concept. So this one came with a 5 year warranty and I'll keep it until then when I will be 65 and approaching a "Senior Crisis" . One possibility to get through that will be the thought that I'll buy another Outback outright as a daily drive and order a 5.0 Mustang for delivery in the September when my state pension would pay for the lease...... I expect the Freelander will still be here as well because for some strange reason my wife doesn't want to change it, but one day I'll get her to look at a nice used Macan . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership 2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles . Best Car I ever owned ! 2023 Toyota Hilux invincible X 2.8 Auto . |

Unrefined engine? Which one? The 2.0 Ingenium engine is in another league from the 2.2 in terms of refinement. I also can't complain about the build quality of the DS. My brother has a Mitsubishi Phev, and although you can't argue about the taxation as a company car, it's a shockingly plasticy price of Japanese crap, that makes the Freelander feel line it goes round corners on rails. Horrible car. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come......... |
