Alex the Oracle was exactly right, my sheet says Code P0403-71 And P0405-77.

This morning it has gone into limp mode again, now awaiting the LRA man ....

I always suffered with the slight lag on my FL2 when coming off the brake and onto the throttle such as when entering roundabouts etc. I sort of got used to it. I had the same symptoms on my Evoque and wasn't to bothered - again, I got used to it.

Recently had it serviced and they carried out a software update (for SD4's with the six speed auto 'box only) and the car now drives COMPLETELY different. Flat spot/lag now gone.

The update was called Q585 and it may apply to the later SD4 FL2 models. Might be worth asking. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

I think the EGR valve needs a clean or replace, the last 48 hours since the update it has driven so much more smoothly, until an hour ago when the restricted performance popped up again, no engine warning light though this time?

I'm not sure if this is the place to ask, but my 08 TD4 now stutters horribly between 1500 and 2000 revs under light acceleration up a slight incline. It also falters slightly now and again at idle and sometimes at gear change. I've read the fault code but only get a generic P2E01 code. It's been happening for a while and I have to drive in sport mode to keep the revs up in a higher range to stop the juddering. I replaced the maf sensor and throttle body, pulled off the inlet manifold and cleaned all the coke out, plus removed the swirl flaps off the spindle. What else could it be? Also, is there a cheap OBD II reader that can read Land Rover fault codes so I can get more information from the sensors?

Ensure fuel filter is clean but these late cars are going down faster than a hoar's draws with EGR problems. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I had to have the EGR replaced on my 2012/62 Evoque SD4 - 4 years old and 85k miles. There seems to be no pattern to age, engine type, gearbox type, driving styles with these failures.

Symptoms prior to engine management light on the dash were stuttering and 'choked' acceleration. Very noticeable improvement once replaced

Approved used warranty, I think it was about £400-£500

Whenever I have had warranty work done the dealer doesn't give you the paperwork but I usually have a peek and they seem to have to give big discount on the labour charge. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

Yes, apparently the warranty company will only allow a certain labour charge limit which is why the dealers normally try and find other smaller things to include on the job card such as seals (rubber type not the performing type ! Laughing )

Basically low cost things that can be replaced without any additional time spent.... in that way they recoup the difference between warranty labour charges and standard labour charges

Similar sounding issue

Hi,

I'm new Smile I have an issue with my 13 plate SD4 Auto. It keeps juddering, worst at 30mph 1500 revs. the Rev counter starts fluctuating, at the same time you can here something actuating in time with the rev counter (when window is down it sounds like its coming from the rear of the car!) and the Freelander stutters down the road. Another side affect is loss of power when pulling away. Its been to several garages who have all plugged in the diagnostics in and no faults are reported as a result they wont carry out warranty work.

Can anyone offer any suggestions? Gearbox has been checked and is ok.

fuel filter maybe, or maybe EGR valve (my SD4 Evoque EGR was causing problems but wasn't registering any codes initially)

if those don't work then ask the dealer to reflash the software FOC

This may be a really dumb answer so apologies if it is, but, in my experience if you wind down only the rear windows, it creates a really pronounced buffeting/drumming effect which is extremely unpleasant. Something to do with air pressure I pulse I guess

It's not window noise! It's getting worse. Mechanics (several of them) won't touch it without a fault code!

All says they "reckon" is it could be EGR, throttle or fuel pump. Any thoughts or help please
