I think 255 is as big as we can go on FL2 ?

Nope!

I ran 285/50/20LTZ's on my black Evoque stormer style wheels.
But I'm down to a more conservative 275/45/20 LTZ on my silver wheels
[just at the limit of the max 3% allowable variance] FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Ok

Ok, Never realised we could go that size. Worried about rubbing etc.. Looking at the previous pic I might go with 255 50 20... They look pretty good. Wider tyre would be good also but a little worried about that... You fitted straight on with 275 no problems?

No rubbing with 285/50s unless under 'articulation'.
Absolutely no rubbing with 275/45s under any circumstance (but on evoque wheels with eta 45) FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

I am picking up some Evoque 20in Stormers tomorrow.

My concern is that i see the Center Bore: 63.4 mm and Lug Size: M14 x 1.5 are the same on both Cars

But ET55 on FL2 and ET45 on RR Evoque. From what i read here people have put them on straight away without having to do anything else??

If they don't fit i will just sell them on again. Truth is I want them to fit Smile

Graham

This simply means that the centre line of the Evoque wheel will stick out 10mm further than the Freelander wheel.
But they are a direct fit without any issue what so ever.

I have been running Evoque 20's for 4 years on both my FL2's.

On Freelander 2?

But ET55 on FL2 and ET45 on RR Evoque. Is that gonna affect it?

Received wisdom is that Ewok wheels will fit FL2 and DS, but DS and FL2 are not interchangeable, although FL2 can be used on DS with 5mm spacers. Unless anyone knows different???

DS wheels are a direct fit to FL2, but they use the same ET45 offset to Evoque. You can fit FL2 wheels to Evoque and DS, but it is advisable to fit wheel spacers because FL2 wheels will stick in 10mm more than normal.

So follow this and all should be well :-

Evoque to Freelander 2- Direct Fit
DS to Freelander 2 - Direct Fit

Freelander 2 to DS - Direct Fit but Wheel spacer advised.

Apologies for opening an old thread.

I have the chance of buying a very nice set of Evoque 18 wheels with nearly new tyres at an excellent price. I gather from the forum that they will fit my 2014 FL2 without a problem. The question is that my 19 wheels have TPMS fitted as standard. The 18 wheels have had the sensors removed.

Is this going to cause any problems? I don’t want to buy new LR sensors for the 18 wheels. Can I run the 18 wheels without sensors or will the car look for them and throw up a fault?

Thanks.

You will get a tpms warning light on the dash. Performance will not be affected. Personally I would fit tpms valves as warning lights annoy me (that's what they are for after all). Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

While at it put new batteries in. One destroyed tyre from a puncture not caught early enough is expensive. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Apologies for opening an old thread. I need advice on tpms again. I have just bought an excellent set of Evoque 18 alloys with very good Pirelli’s. However they don’t have tpms fitted which will be a problem come MOT time (Sept) as I believe the car will fail due to the tpms warning light.

I am not sure if the part pictured is all that I need to get the system up and running on the Evoque alloys.

Also will the car recognise the new tpms sensors automatically or do they require programming? I believe a few miles driving is enough to code them.

Thanks in advance.

The car should recognise Genuine LandRover units. Others may need to be programmed.
The Genuine set I bought from Dan at Duckworths came without a necessary washer, which the fitter supplied. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

Evoque 18 inch alloys fitted today. Bought second hand in excellent condition with only a couple of minor marks. Pirelli’s with about 6 mm included. I bought a set of genuine LR tpms from eBay which were fitted by my local tyre fitter. Balanced and swapped for the original 19 inch. All for under £300. No problems with the tpms either. The car recognised them straight away so no warnings.

Have to say that even after a ten mile drive the car seems to drive better. I didn’t feel every bump in the road like before and the car seems less skittish.

Maybe less poodle is the way forward after all. Laughing

One could argue that Evoque 18 inch alloys on a Freelander are an acceptable crossbreed... Aussiedoodle (Australian Shepherd and Poodle)! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
