SWMBO keeps a nail file in that tray thing. Ive not found a use for it - tried putting the fob there but it ends up on the floor completely out of reach.

Put it in the little tray to the right of the steering wheel - fits perfectly, provided you don't have a key ring or anything else attached to it. |

Why would you want to keep the fob in the car? Are you trying to get it stolen? MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE |

i think Danny means its somewhere to put the fob when you are driving and can find it easily when you get out of the car. Jules |

I'm thinking that tray - if ever removed - would be a good location to add in some aftermarket switches/buttons if someone were to wire in some additional lights or add-ons to the vehicle. Just a convenient location for it... |

Surely when you're driving the fob is in the ignition slot? Are post 2010 models different? MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE |

I just assumed that's what the little tray is meant for - being close to the steering column, which is where the transponder is located. |

This aftermarket sat nav system uses it for buttons.

Our 2014 SE Tech does not have a tray immediately below the display only a tray in front of the gear lever. Jules |
