Unfortunately, that's still not the whole story. To be completely fair in drawing comparisons between diesel/petrol and electric power by taking the pollution from electricity generation into account, we'd need to take into account the carbon emissions and general pollution as a result of oil exploration, extraction, refining, distribution and retail. This is why pollution is normally measured at source. The hole in the ozone layer is repairing itself as a result of the phasing out of the use of CFC's , rather than any change in diesel or petrol use. |

This is an interesting video about disruptive technologies and how economics determines how technologies get displaced. !t covers a number of areas and is about 50 mins long and worth watching if you have the time but if you cut in at about 21mins he has some interesting views on the future of cars in general.

Simply that you then burn some petrol and the 669 mpg goes down a bit. 2009 FL2 |

I've been playing with settings and think the readings over 999.9 are for the individual journey you are doing at that time but I can also see overall mpg which is now 110 mpg over 245 miles - this includes trip from Leeds dealer last week and trip to York on Saturday which exceeded battery range and used some petrol |
