Agree the interior lets it down compared to LR Sad

Bit like getting back in my old FL1/Disco 2 inside and after a MY13 RRS/MY16 Disco Sport will be a bit of a compromise but the savings are the big draw for me - since we moved in November been considering going back to 2 vehicles (swmbo used to have a FL1 then Mini as her car in past) - SWMBO will get the PHEV and I will get a used JLR vehicle for me Twisted Evil

If I was still having only 1 vehicle it wouldn't be the PHEV - I would of kept my last RRS or current DS Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

Enjoy, they seem popular, they're not for me though.

All the pollution is just moved out of town, it still exists. Pick on diesel owners for polluting towns and cities, yet out of town the power stations are churning out more muck than they've ever done. The hole in the Ozone has shrunk so petrol and CO2 is now good and diesel is now the anti christ.

Unfortunately, that's still not the whole story. To be completely fair in drawing comparisons between diesel/petrol and electric power by taking the pollution from electricity generation into account, we'd need to take into account the carbon emissions and general pollution as a result of oil exploration, extraction, refining, distribution and retail. This is why pollution is normally measured at source.

The hole in the ozone layer is repairing itself as a result of the phasing out of the use of CFC's , rather than any change in diesel or petrol use.

This is an interesting video about disruptive technologies and how economics determines how technologies get displaced. !t covers a number of areas and is about 50 mins long and worth watching if you have the time but if you cut in at about 21mins he has some interesting views on the future of cars in general.

Muddywheels, do you have the newest version of the PHEV?

I don't think the earlier ones can show anything better than 99.9mpg as --.- 2009 FL2

Simply that you then burn some petrol and the 669 mpg goes down a bit. 2009 FL2

I've been playing with settings and think the readings over 999.9 are for the individual journey you are doing at that time but I can also see overall mpg which is now 110 mpg over 245 miles - this includes trip from Leeds dealer last week and trip to York on Saturday which exceeded battery range and used some petrol Thumbs Up

This also includes overtaking and hills when the petrol engine boosts the battery power Mr. Green Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

3m/kW at 10p/kW = 150 miles per gallon equivalent Very Happy

The petrol mpg took a hit on few longer trips but is rising again now I'm back in battery range Cool

Car was toasty warm this morning thanks to vehicles electric timed heater while in garage - couldn't do that with the RRS webasto Confused
