I'm not sure if I like it or not, maybe it's the paint job? Definitely won't like the price! |

what I don't get with this new VED system is how it can be based on the value of the new purchase price. Surely that is covered in VAT that you already pay on the car so your effectively paying tax on the car twice ????

Would seem to be a way for manufacturers to compete on the best goodies list at £39,999.99, only problem with that is that engineering is substituted by bling, suspension parts and anything outside the drive train will be poor quality. Can't see it lasting long unless it becomes linked to RPI. For those who think the Korean and other far east makes are a bargain, stick your heads underneath and check the size of the suspension parts and mounts my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Wind back the clock a few years and JLR has a distinctive set of vehicles, the workhorse Defender, the Discovery which hinted at the Range Rover and then the Freelander. All had an appeal to different users. The one thing that united them was the badge, you knew what you were getting and you knew what it could do. The Camel Trophy cemented in peoples minds the ability regardless of if you needed it or not.
