Hello there from the good old US of A. Checking in from sunny Daytona Beach Florida. Hoping I can get some help from you guys here on the forum. Here in the states Land Rovers are only owned by arrogant arse holes who don't work on their own cars. I understand that this is a more common car across the pond and maybe can find some folks like myself who work on our own vehicles.

Hi there. I'm a new Freelander 2 owner having just purchased a 2008 TD4 with the 2.2 mated to the 6-speed box. So far it is a lovely vehicle to drive, and I'm excited to get some miles on it. There are a few things I'd like to do on the FL, so I'll eagerly be reading through the different forums to soak up to community knowledge. Hello fellow members.
I am currently looking to purchase a Freelander 2 diesel preferring it to be an HSE model, Black or Grey with cream leather, i have a few on my list to check out, i am moving from the Freelander 1 TD4 which is a HSE model Helsinki Blue.

I have owned the Fl1 for nearly two years now and have carried out extensive work on it to bring it up to standard, so i am not afraid to take on a Freelander2 if it needs work carried out as a preventive measure, of that it may need doing as the previous owner as not undertaken.

Hopefully i can bring some knowledge to the forum but i am here also to learn from members whom have already owned and own a FL2.

I think my first post will be asking a few questions before i go off spending thank you for reading my introduction cheers Steve.

Hi, newbie FL2 Wales Smile i bought a freelander in june, by august 15 having seen the FL2 i had to have one, driving it is sooo nice, it gives me a real "feel good factor" hope you can help with the mods i would like to do

I'm new here and hope to have many pleasant hours conversing with other Freelander owners and finding out how to properly look after my car.

I've got a 3.5 year old Freelander 2 SD4 that is now out of warranty and needs to be properly cared for by myself and my trusty local garage.

Hi to all..... Just a quick intro, I got myself a 08 freelander 2 GS td4 while its great car it does need a wee bit TLC. So hopefully & with this forums members help I'll resolve it's issues.. I plan on doing most of the maintenance myself..,. So if you all don't mind I'll ask away.

Evening all.

I pick up my new Freelander 2 tomorrow!

Looking forward to it despite having to travel half way across the country in order to collect it (right car, right price and all that).
It's an early (VERY early- 56 plate registered in January!) 2007 GS 2.2Td4 with aftermarket retrofitted satnav and 160-odd-thousand on the clock.

I've read about the known pitfalls (ie rear diff, camshaft shearing off, power steering hiss, clutch life)- is there anything I should really be concerned about?
