Does anyone known if getting a remap improves the problem as I'm sure the guys writing the remapes will have more freedom than the people at L/R.. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8

Yes this sounds like the 2011 hesitation problem that generally occurs on warm days. This topic seems to come up annually when the weather warms up. I had this until they did a s/w upgrade and "recalibrated the airflow" which seems to have generally fixed the problem although sometimes it is a bit sluggish pulling away. I had LR assist out a few months ago for some other problem and got the guy to check the s/w was still up to date and he did another recalibration. I don't think this will ever get resolved now that FL2 has gone out of production. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Hi all,

I have a 2007 2.2 TD4 HSE which has developed a weird sort of misfire . I was exiting a roundabout when it felt like it mis-fired. A little later in the journey it did it again. When I got to my destination it was idling a little lumpy and missing again.

I'm guessing an injector is giving up but wanted to get the advice of others on here. Do you think the injector is causing the issue? Do they just 'go' in this way? If it is an injector, is it a simple DIY fix or does in need to go to a garage?

Also, can someone tell me what sort of MPG I should be getting? Currently seeing 30MPG which seem a little low to me (Injector again?).

Can't help with the miss fire issue mine does anything from mid 20,s on very short jurneys to 40 mpg @ 70 on the motorway

Thanks archie98 for the response. Most of my driving is done on the motorway averaging between 70 - 80 mph. i would expect to see mid to late 30's even for a car of this age.

Sorry, not a hope in hell I am afraid. An overall low to mid 30's is the best you can expect. I tow a caravan also, which explains my 28 or so. (Applies to cars up to & including 2010MY)

Throttle Body seems to be a popular issue in respect of running problems as reported here. Don't forget to report your findings. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Well I guess the positive is that the MPG is correct and there's nothing else which needs fixing

UPDATE -

New throttle body arrived today. Fitted new part but car still the same. When I looked inside the old throttle body, there wasn't any damage/ stripped cogs. Anyone have any other ideas on what may be causing the mis-fire? It seems to be mostly when idling. I can't really feel anything when I'm driving

When was the last time the fuel filter was changed ? FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Alex,

The mis-fire first happened when exiting a roundabout and again later. It hasn't mis-fired since when driving but doesn't idle properly.

The car was serviced about 2.5k miles ago (although I haven't checked to make sure everything was changed).

Fuel filters are to be found on every Diesel engine running in this World I think you will find as the slightest bit of muck in the injector and pump system does serious damage.  FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Well, Throttle body changed and no difference. Just also changed the fuel filter and still the same.
