A couple of weeks ago I noticed an old W reg (1981?) VW camper van parked in the drive of a second home near me (there are lots around here but that's another gripe) it looked pretty dirty and almost abandoned so I noted the number and put it into the government website and sure enough it wasn't taxed. A few days later I noticed that it had gone and I assumed that it had been scrapped. But then it appeared again and my thoughts were that it was being driven without tax or insurance etc. So I got on the govt website again and lo and behold it had just had an MOT at nearly 290k miles and passed with only a couple of advisories about some surface rust underneath. Going back a few years the history showed few mechanical issues.

I have a 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 S and it's now clocked just over 220,000 kms! I've not had any major issues with the car and have mostly had it dealer serviced here in Brunei |

Mine's coming up to 10 years old in September and clicked over 302,000 kilometres this week. That's 187,654 miles. |

Somehow offtopic, but did you know that the diff cover has already internally a magnet of its own? See below... |
