Understanding Sat Nav and other settings

UNDERSTANDING SAT NAV
I have recently purchased a FRL SPORT auto WHITE with 19" shadow 10 spoke. 190bhp

Lots of gizmo's and the plug-in key. How do I set things like Sat Nav etc etc unless the engine is running ??
and does the MPG AV work automatically as it never seems to change.

Lots of things don't seem listed in Handbook.

Awsome vehicle, I have had 5 LR's over the years, but this is a much better drive
than my friends Evogue by far. Where do we go when we want another the same ????

I live at the end of a lane and nearly every day I get someone outside my house following a SAT NAV and looking for hotels or B&Bs that are within about 100 metres of them. People seem to have total faith in these things and have generally driven past the places they are looking for. They no longer carry maps and when some discover that they can't get a mobile signal they freak out. Recently I had a tearful Chinese lady who barely spoke English and was navigating with her iPhone which had lost it's signal. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

What you've described, Dorset, is people relying on post codes to find an address. They seem to think that it'll take them to the door of wherever it is they've booked. But then we all know that the roads are clogged with morons. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE

I agree, I also have large Curtainsider lorries stuck on my country lane due to Sat Navs..

I ALWAYS CARRY A MAP, and I have often found my way home from having to divert through road works, just with my Compass, or looking at Satellite Dishes. (My Dad went across the Aftrican Dessert with his and got home).

They are handy though, and just wanted to be able to work it if the need arrises.

VERY SORRY !!!! (We are not all Morons)

I drove around Europe for 4 months without a GPS, mobile or computer. It was great getting away from the rat race. If we needed some help we just asked someone and they were more than happy to help.

1:800,000 maps are too small. 1:500,000 is just enough to see small enough key roads. Then we occasionally got local maps from information centres if we needed them, but it really was not necessary, it was more out of laziness of having a larger scale.

Italy was a bit of a pain with a shortage of street names. Got a bit lost once but still knew where we roughly were. I can't see how one can actually get lost as such! The locals could not have been more helpful. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

We better maintain our map reading skills as the exponential increase in space junk will destroy all the satellites. Pessimists say we are stuffed in 5 years, optimists say we are stuffed in 25 years. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
