Looking at upgrading my 4 yr old Panasonic Plasma and considering the 4K screens , had a look at Panasonic TX-50DX750/700B sets yesterday .
Dealer showed some 4k footage via a usb plug in which was very impressive .

Any thoughts , anyone got the UHD Blue Ray player yet ?

I have a Panasonic 58ax802b -4k Is very good via netflix, and upscaled Blu Ray is impresive.
Not bothering yet with UHD blu ray or whatever they are called - blu ray upscales very well with my sony DVD 

I'm looking at the same thing, I'm moving abroad and at present there is a difference of over £200 compared to UK prices, unfortunately all stores increased their prices yesterday by between £50-£100( Brexit?) Though my present set is a Panasonic 47" I have found that the streaming is poor compared to my 22" Samsung in the bedroom ( with both on at the same time the Panasonic always buffers, whereas the Samsung doesn't) I' looking at the Samsung UE55KU6500 Curved HDR 4K Ultra HD Smart TV, 55" or the flat version which is the 6400, I need a satellite tuner so that is why those sets are are a preference. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Are you experiencing problems with the Panasonic Netflix Application, or is your set android
I know that app panasonic apps requiring web data route their traffic through Panasonic servers -which may cause performance issues
Also, when the Panasonic servers go down ( it happened a few months ago) Netflix wont launch 

Back in the mid 80's we had an 18" colour TV with no remote - you had to touch one of 4 numbers on the front to get it to change channel. i have a Panasonic 4K TV, though i don't think its UHD spec, even though i bought it less than a year ago, but that didn't stop the bloke in Curry's from trying to upsell me £80 UHD HDMI leads for it, a waste of money unless you are going to have UHD BluRay or content to watch via it

I bought a 4K upscaling Blu Ray player, but that doesn't allow me to upscale as it says my HDMI lead is not 4K compliant, which doesn't bother me as the TV upscales it, or the Amp if i have it set too.

Over all, 4K is great, Netflix content is lacking though, I won't pay Sky for any 4K content if they ever do launch it and i mainly watch all my movies via a Apple TV box upscaled from 1080P

I went into Currys recently for a 50 metre RJ45 cable and saw that they were about £35 so I asked if there was some mistake as I had recently bought one on ebay for £6. They said no that's a special offer price! I'm looking to replacing our 8 year old 32" Samsung LED TV with something a little larger, say 40-43".

Two of my daughters have bought new TVs' in the past month, one a 50" Sony and the other a 43" Panasonic and I'm not at all impressed with the picture quality of either of them.

I appreciate that the smaller the screen, the better the picture but even allowing for that, they're not as good as our old Samsung.

I think the old adage 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it' will apply and I'll wait until our Samsung breaks down.

@pcheaven, the streaming is only BBC iplayer or one of the other main stations or one of the other main UK players, the Panasonic apps are poor compared to Samsung though I notice they now have Freetime, of course it is personal but OH prefers the Samsung picture over the Panasonic, both the customer care centres are not much help and Panasonic is in the Philippines and not really interested.
@ dorsetfreelander, Currys once tried to sell me an optical cable at some extortionate price, when I queried it, it was explained that it was gold plated and therefore had a better connection. The 2 Panasonic models I looked at had the option of mounting the stands central or at each end , any one notice any improvement in PQ from a 4k screen when watching terrestrial HD TV/Sky footage ? FL2 gone now in 2016 Discovery 4 Loire Blue .

4k for home is bull, unless you have a barn converted to a cinema and a massive screen.
The pixels on a decent 60" 1080 HD cannot be seen at about 10 feet, quadrupling them makes no difference what so ever, you are paying for 4 times more components on the screen for no discernible advantage.

I bought a 55" Sony 4K a couple of months ago . Picture on HD is amazing , only "used" the 4K with YouTube .. You would think you are there. Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

not looked for 4K on You Tube myself, but did what a few 3D videos on there some really pop out at you
