Just got my Freelander 2 TD4 & it's filthy under the bonnet am I ok to power wash it?

I've done it twice, without any problems.
And I've done it without the engine cover installed.
But that's my case... I dunno what could happen in your case....

Avoid obvious places like electrics alternator service filling places like oil brake fluid etc cover if you can and you should be fine. Pre treat with a degreaser and work in with a brush helps.

Thanks all I will give it a go, just fitting tow bar and electrics, taken rear bumper off and wheel arch liners could not believe how much came out 2 shovel fulls, all cleaned with power wash looks like new.

Been under mine recently it's worth getting under the jacking points and pulling the plastic trim away and banging about or poking in with a blade it's surprising how much rubbish comes out.

Found my Rover hated being power washed with lots of noise from the pumps and belts afterwards. Needed lots of WD to sort it asap so if I do it now I play safe and keep engine running and spray liberally with WD40 or similar as soon as I have stopped washing before turning off engine.

Keeping washing clear from most electrics of course. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
