Stubborn stains on the grille

Hello everyone,

I'm seeking some opinions on how to safely remove stains on the grille.

The previous owner must have spilled coolant (or similar) and did not clean up. Here is a photo of the stains.

I've read some good feedback on Mothers Adhesive Remover, and ArmorAll, but they are not available where I've looked (have tried many shops).

I purchased Car Plan Tar Remover and while it did help, the stubborn stains still remained. Any other recommendations would be appreciated. Would 3M Acetone work? Thanks in advance, Darren

Do not use Acetone. It is a solvent. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

If it is adhesive, lighter fuel works well.

Try polishing with some toothpaste. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

@Lightwater, thanks for your reply.

I don't think it's adhesive, the stains have that "I spilled it and left it there" pattern. I'll try toothpaste then. Thank you,

Try cutting a piece of citrus fruit in half and rub the stain with the cut fruit and wipe off - it's great for all sorts of stubborn stains Thumbs Up
(Test a small piece first - since you don't know what caused the stain you can't know what it will react like) No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

I had exactly that problem. Nothing I tried would fix it. I think it's probably down to some of the noxious substances used by some car wash enterprises. I had to change the grille.
