Private Disco 3/Freel2/RRS event in Kielder Forest *Jan 2009

Sister site Disco 3 Forum member Iona Disko and myself are thinking of organising a private Disco 3/Freel2 and RRS event in the beautiful surroundings of Kielder Forest and are interested in gauging interest for this event from other members. Iona Disko already has obtained land clearance so that we can do this event. Thumbs Up

Kielder sits at the heart of Europe’s largest man-made forest and is ideally located for those in the North of England or for our friends sitting over the Scottish border who fancy a venture south.

For those further a field there is camping available as well as hotels and log cabins available to rent.

The cost of the day would be £50 per vehicle – half of which goes to charity (Mountain Rescue)

The day would be a follow the leader type event through the forest using current trails along with some stops at general play areas (old quarries – that sort of thing). We intend to figure out a route that is as non-damaging as possible and ideal for all levels of driving experience.

The current dates we have available are Sunday January 18th and Sunday March 22nd. In order to make this a viable day we need a minimum of 20 cars. If you are interested in this please can you hit the appropriate button at the top of this page.

At the moment we are only gauging interest and you are not committing to anything.

sounds quite interesting Thumbs Up

Can possibly do the late January day Thumbs Up

but the other is to close to the due date for the baby for me Thumbs Up

Will the route be shiny paintwork friendly or do i need a day off to do some paint correction to rid the car of the bramble rash? Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Thanks for adding the "either works for me" option npinks Bow down

At the moment we don't have a route identified - that is something "Iona Disko" and I will work on soon. So I Don't know what the overhang on the trees may be. – but like I said in the original post we hope it won’t be damaging.

Asking for sandwiches, does that mean your going to put your name down and be counted Question

I went to Kielder a few years back, for a new year party and a few days away, hired out the log cabins and had some fun, snowed too as i cracked my thumb sledging in a plastic sack, but the guiness took the pain away Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

As my father-in-law lives in Selkirk it wouldn't be too far for us to travel from there so I'm thinking about it. (it'll be my first time off-road if I do)

Is there a date when we have to register by Question ______________________
