no, only when you engage reverse are the sensors activated, and then both front and rear are active. You can switch them off using the button on the dash

Your light should be solid. If flashing then there is a fault. A code reader can tell you what 2007 Black Freelander 2 HSE - hers

When we bought our 60 reg it had had a tow bar fitted and removed. The reversing beepers didn't work and the dealer found they had been configured off. I don't know if a non-dealer has the capability to reconfigure. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

This extract from the 09MY technical manual may be of assistance to you - I am working on getting a pdf version of the parking aid section into my Gallery bear with me on that one as I am having to cut and paste about a dozen pages piece by piece!
EDIT: I have now uploaded the pdf file re parking aid to my gallery page No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS "Fiat Lux" a philosophy not a car |

Hi all, fitted a Land Rover 13pin tow electrics today and now I don’t have reverse parking sensors. I had to move a black box ( turns out this is the parking sensor box)out of the way a bit so I could get to a earthing point for the tow electrics. I un did the bolt and put Earth cable from tow electrics to the bolt, there is another wire attached to the bolt but not sure at the moment if this Earth cable goes to the parking sensor box. But anyway I forgot to disconnect the battery when I un did this bolt and now I get a 3 sec long tone when I start up the same tone you would get when you select reverse. Would disconnecting the Earth while battery connected mess up the parking sensor box. Would this need resetting Marto. GS Sd4 2012 |

This was solved for me by buying a Trailer module ECU update from Gap Diagnostics, my trailer software was out of date. |
