Can the pressure monitors be "activated" on the car? Had a couple of slow punctures recently but no warning, the tyre bloke said that the dash should have told me as he saw the monitors in the tyres. |

They are maybe good from a safety aspect, but the valves corrode into them after a while and they break off the next time it comes to getting a tyre fitted |

I had a puncture caused by a screw through the thread which the TPMS detected. So I removed the wheel and fitted my spare when I got home.

Sensors have a battery in them.

That's very helpful thanks. If I have to replace the repaired sensor, will it need to be paired to my car? Potted LR history since 1990:

Providing you replace the TPMS sensor with the correct LR type then the vehicle will detect it automatically. You may have to drive for about 10 - 15 miles before it is recognised but it will pick it up. |

The sensor that I repaired in June 2016 was removed today when I replaced the tyres on my Freelander.
