We plan to. Just been busy with other things. We did more km in Italy! Being retired & close to the shops it's quicker to walk.

Back to the actual topic, even though it looks like the Si4 can't make cappuccinos via the touchscreen, I still enjoy the thread. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Bow down respect for all the work currently been done

I just went through the 8 pages and I think I find myself lucky with a FL2 of 2014 with large screen, voice control and the like. It seems like I've got a good SSD to start with. I think there are features listed here before that would turn the FL2 in the car I would have liked to order.

How will this work out for the future ? Having the knowledge through this forum and more this topic that a wish is actually possible or not is a great start. But how do we take it from there to the next step: enable/disable the functions we have seen here ?

It is a FL2, so wading the ocean is quite limited, otherwise I would be happy to drive over with beer and whisky and my whishlist.

Again Bow down as it couldn't been said enough

Thanks ErikB Thumbs Up
Still more to come yet.
You need to be able to edit your CCF and there is a couple of different options you can choose.
My advice is that your wasting your time with anything other than SDD and as you will see in the very near future some of the features I will be activating will require the access that only SDD will give you.
This is my opinion! MY15

HVAC Upgrade/Air Quality Sensing

Firstly, I did this primarily because I was retrofitting heated seats and as this involved the HVAC module it made sense to do this also as frankly there is very little hardware other than a new HVAC module with this feature.
So I now have "Air Quality Sensing feature" which was an option in AU.

The interesting, well I found interesting, was that LR had gone to a lot of trouble to camouflage the activation field of this feature, so much so that the obvious fields had no affect on the activation of the "automatic" functioning of the fresh air function. If it wasn't for a lot of previous study of my CCF by Cambo and myself I doubt we would have ever been able to activate this feature, interesting!
Anyhow for now, my "automatic" sensing option will be controlled by the ambient interior temperature sensor and the exterior ambient temperature sensor until I fit the "Air Quality Sensor" which is more awkward than
difficult. Fresh air being controlled into the interior of the car based on these differentials and selected Temperature.

The "air quality sensor" is a part of the HVAC LIN harness for the air mix actuators. Interestingly the field for this sensor is set at "undefined" for vehicles with or without this feature. The "Polution sensor" is within the HVAC LIN so doesn't trigger DTC's rather ignores the missing data within its "automatic" calculation.

EDIT: Correction, Yes it does trigger a DTC, opps! will need to fit the sensor quick smart!!! Rolling with laughter

The only other part of this system is the "humidity sensor" within the interior rear view mirror. Because of the way it's integrated into the system and CCF this is entirely optional and can be added or not. It's able to be enabled or disabled within CCF hence no DTC's. In AU with our climate this is really not needed as differential temperature between outside and inside and the formation of "damp" on the screen is unlikely. That's why in Australia heated screens are really not necessary. I've used my program defrost cycle once! Mainly to see what it did, lol.
Anyhow, now that we know how to activate this feature, Cambo and I can help anyone activate this feature if you wish. I think you'll find Cambo Is already sourcing a new HVAC module with this feature for his. MY15

Heated Seats Retrofitted!

Lol, well after a full day, including CCF changes, I have heated seats!!!
More importantly this is possible for anyone to do if you want heated seats in your Freelander 2.
Here's a few pics.

Heated seat module link harness from seat wiring loom plug to heater module.

Would strongly suggest you invest in a pair of "hog ring" pliers as I did as it makes the job very easy indeed. Without you will struggle. I also managed to source stainless steel hog rings so they will never rust.

Ok, as i said, anyone can do this if you want BUT and Cambo can probably explain better as we discovered a JLR stuff up in the MY13 to MY15 CCF.
Basically and Cambo can correct me if i get this slightly wrong but someone at JLR forgot to load the correct heated seat ccf options in 1 of the 3 ccf fields that need to be edited to allow heated seats to be enabled. This affects all MY13 vehicles onwards. Obviously vehicles which left the factory with heated seats have the correct settings, but those who didn't have heated seats, as i did, don't have the necessary fields to enable.
BUT, we now do!!!
This means that anyone wanting to do this will not be able to get a dealer to enable because they can't. Firstly they are locked out of the necessary fields and even if they got an engineering password the correct fields are not present in the CCF.
We now have the correct CCF fields which Cambo and I have added to my CCF.
So Yes, easy retrofit but you will need to talk to Cambo to arrange the heated seat function to work! I doubt anyone would be able to get this working otherwise.
In the end all is back to normal after the dismantling! Laughing

Air Polution sensor mounted in its own little box for easy access if I need to. In my view this is a better solution as the factory location is more likely due to ease of production whereas my installation puts it directly in the airflow stream.

I must say it's quite affective and I've not once had to switch manually to recycle. DTC for Polution sensor has now existinguished!

It's mounted directly above the air intake on the baffle plate.
