Installed the Chromecast Audio today. Anyone else considering this option, hold off until I've done more testing. In order to stream music to it, you need to turn on WiFi hotspot/tethering on your phone. Although this works fine the app I use most, Napster seems to insist on streaming the tracks from the internet even when I have them downloaded for offline use, which defeats the point for me as I don't have unlimited data.

I can confirm that Chromecast Audio is not a good solution for wireless in car audio. It doesn't allow streaming of downloaded tracks from the likes of Napster, Spotify or Google Music unless it has an active internet connection (your phones data plan).other apps allow streaming of local content (stuff you've ripped and put on your phone) but it is still unreliable.

Well everything is working perfectly on the Neet/iPhone front, I'm really impressed with it.

I've yet to rwmove the head unit to try fitting the cable but I sold on the Chromecast and took a punt on one of those eBay Bluetooth ones posted above and I have to say. Works perfectly. Audio quality seems fine FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

OP - did you manage to fit that cable? I removed my stereo this morning and there isn't anywhere for it to go. Nothing for it to piggy back with either. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Nope. For now I've run a jack down the inside of the centre console, out the back of the handbrake sleeve and into the AUX socket.

I'll try the manufacturer to see if they can offer any advice otherwise it'll be going back to Amazon. |
