England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Tambora Flame
Apple Airplay

Having lost my old Nexus 5 I've put the insurance money towards an iPhone 6s.

Now it's always annoyed me that I can't stream audio over bluetooth on the Freelander and then I discovered that I can buy a little box that sets up a wireless hotspot that the iPhone connects to and then feeds the audio into the Aux input.

So I've picked up one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00O0U37HO and one of these www.amazon.co.uk/T1-Audio-T1-CTVLRX003-Con...B006B7EVCE and we'll see what happens. Very Happy

Yup should work well mate. I recently put an old apple tv3 in mine. Fantastic gadget. I can now wirelessly stream music and put video to the dash monitor when i stop at services etc.

Interesting. I assume you have no control over the device in terms of skipping tracks etc other than the device itself?

Might be quite interested in this myself. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

I use siri and the hey siri command. "Hey siri, skip this track"

Will need to look into it further I think. I mostly use streaming apps like Napster or Spotify, playing downloaded tracks while in the car. I don't think either of those apps use DNLA so it may not work for me. The specs of that box doesn't mention Bluetooth support. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

This will do it if you just want a2dp music over bluetooth. https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/161890732683

However you may find your phone wont allow you to connect to both the built in hands free and that at the same time.

Yeah, thats another issue. Seems like there's no cost effective and perfect solution. If I come into any decent amount of cash I want to put a proper Pioneer head in mine. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

For those who may be in a familiar situation as me, wanting to use an app like Spotify/Napster/Google Play on Android which won't work as these aren't DNLA compatible, you could always replace the Neet with a Chromecast Audio... Does the same job. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Molesholme - what is the adapter for that you linked to? I have a 2011 Alpine (non premium) head unit so not sure if I need it. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

The adaptor provides RCA connectors at the rear for AUX In rather than having to use the jack in the console.

Cool. Is it fairly obvious where it goes? FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Re. the Chromecast Audio I very nearly bought one of those (currently on special at Currys for £14) but it doesn't look like they play nicely with Apple.

I hope so. I'm 3,000 miles away from it until Thursday next week but it looks as though it just daisy chains through one of the existing connectors at the back.
