Digit 10 is the number in front of H, and mine is 7 (the car's production DATE: 11-05-2007) .. so it is correct.

The only VIN characters you need to worry about when comparing your vehicle to the recall letter are positions 12 to 17 - All the numbers after 'H'.

Mine is a Spanish market model and LR UK was able to tell me that it is indeed fitted with the heater. Strange fault this - if it fails the car gets very very hot, not colder! 2007 FL2 SE Diesel Auto

Yesterday I asked my Norwegian dealer/service station about the recall, but he had not heard about it, but would check with LR whan I explained what it concerned 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

3 degrees C this morning and I realised what a useful piece of kit the PTC heater is. It took 2 or 3 miles before the fan kicked in with some warmish air. Thank goodness for heated seats. Don`t drive faster than your angel can fly! |

Yep 1c in Devon this morning. I think with the control on auto the fan will not kick in until the engine warms, thus stopping cold air being blown all over you. I find that if you switch to manual and make the nice fairground lights come on the fan will kick in so you get warm air a bit quicker than waiting for the car to decide. I agree, for heated seats! |
