S models don't get the terrain response or any of the steering wheel controls. Im not sure if it still has Bluetooth hands free though.

Personally, I would go slightly older and get a higher spec FL2. Whats your Budget? Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come......... |

That should see you getting a nice XS around a 60 plate. My friend has just bought a 61 plate XS with a lot of Options for £17k from an LR dealer. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come......... |

I always treat rising prices with a pinch of salt.

My strategy was to get the latest Pre-DPF one that was within budget and was XS or higher spec. |

Mine is a TD4 160bhp pre DPF, built Jan 2010 and sold Mar 2010. Auto, premium everything and with full LR main dealer history, 68k on the clock. Bought it just before Xmas.

My son just traded in a 60 plate GS manual with 78k miles for £9k at a Mitsubishi dealer. It's in a filthy state as it's a working car (full of mud inside and out) but the guy looked it up and quoted £9k then when we took it in he didn't even walk around it. He just got in started it up, reved it once and said fine. Interestingly when I did the same exercise at a LR dealer they crawled all over it and came up with a slightly lower figure. The thing I have found about valuing cars is that there is no upside, you get the book price regardless of having fitted new disc/pads/tyres or any other improvements. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I mostly agree with you there Dorsetfreelander but when I sold my 08 plate GS Manual in July, I got top book price for it mostly due to it having the panoramic roof, roof rails, nearly new AT tyres and a parrot hands free.
