As a MY15 owner it is becoming very clear to me that LR/Australian design rules/Dealers etc are dictating to me what features I can have access to on my vehicle which I purchased. I'm not happy with this as I think I'm intelligent enough to decide not to trap a kids head in the window if I want to globally close windows or activate the rear camera so I can see behind me in traffic when the rear cargo area is fully loaded with "stuff"! I'm intelligent enought to not use my phone to text whilst driving so are unlikely to be watching a DVD and hence I am annoyed that functionality has to be "dumbed" down to cater for the "numbnuts" who would do this.
From my understanding these and other configurable options are available to me in the CCF!
In short for those already got the IID tool or the Nanocom, could I be advise which would give me access to all these configurable items?
It would be really appreciated as I would like to invest in one of these to restore my freedom of choice!
The "Geek" in me is being influenced by the Bluetooth connection to an iphone/iPad with the GAP Diagnostic tool but I want the "Hardware" that will give me greatest access to CCF now and into the future!

I am looking at getting a diagnostic unit, firstly to reset 'service required', & then for whatever maybe needed.

I haven't a clue what to get. I haven't got an iPad but can buy one if required, & only have a 'dumb phone'! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Yes, I've been immersing myself into the technology and Havn't changed my view on either the LR dealers or LR themselves.
If it just service reset then there is a few fairly cheap "interfaces" you can get but if you are like me and want to be able to go deep into CCF editing you'll need something serious. To be honest I don't know if the IDD tool does everything yet.
As you'll be aware all Aussie built freelander 2's only have global opening activated as LRA deem the global closing feature to be liable for injury. The amount of trouble I had to go through to convince dealer and LR to activate was rediculous. Infact dealer said they couldn't do it as they had been locked out of SSD to make this change in CCF. On my second visit my complaints had obviously been heard! I now have global opening and closing.
My advice to you, if you only want something to reset service interval then a cheap interface will be sufficient.
If your planing on doing far more than this then you'll need something else as the dealer will not assist, believe me I know and have it in writing from LR technical.
Let me know what your planing on doing and I can advise you better. I no longer have the necessity to see the dealer to assist me in these matters!! MY15

I have both...I would recommend the IID BT (very highly).
