TD4 for me, whilst the SD4 does feel a little quicker when pushed hard, the trade off in fuel consumption IMHO is not worth it |

SD every time. Auto is excellent. You can select command shift and play with gearchanges all day if you wish.

My sister has the SD4 but I prefer the Si4 Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

naturally, you are a mud plugger, and sd4 autos are very good off road - considering they have no low range ![]() |

I have the SD4 Auto and think its great - yes the MPG is quite bad , ok its very bad ..... but i am willing to pretend that isn't an issue as i really enjoy the engine. |

I drove a FFRR with the 4.4 TDV8 on a LR experience day and its an unbelievable engine, very very quick on road and effortless off road. |

Recently upgraded to a SD4 auto from a TD4 manual - I find the SD4 quieter, more powerful, surprisingly better fuel economy and more relaxing. I don't think I will ever go "manual" again MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.
