A bulb that blows at fairly regular intervals can be put down to that units less than satisfactory earthing, this causes irregular voltage through the bulb and shortens its life.

Does anyone know where the headlight units are earthed to the bodywork or does it just go back to the battery earth terminal somehow? All I can see is a big plug on the back of the unit. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

And congratulations to the dealer in Cambridge for supplying the wrong bulb first time. That's two twenty mile round trips. Should have given Dan a buzz I suppose. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

I thought it was one bulb for dipped and one for main, must look again. It does make sense as I thought it strange that both main and dipped stopped working at same time. |
