Thanks for your reply Hinchy. Should it not put itself into 1st when stationary if it's in auto mode, before I pull away? |

I far as I am aware this autobox always starts off in 2nd and 1st gear is for off-roading which you have to use it manually. If you do a forum search you'll get more information. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green

Nope, sorry, the autobox always starts in 1st, and starts in second only when you put it there through command shift. |

I've been told (by a non-Land Rover owner), that it may need the gearbox oil topping up? |

The topping, if needed, is a bad sign.

Although you have a different cluster than mine, your autobox is the same as mine, and on my MY2009, I've changed the cluster's firmware in order to show the gears too. And you can see that the box always starts on 1st.

Back on the first message: when you pulled away, how hard did you pressed the throttle? Because if you push it quickly you can experience such lags... |

It wasn't too hard. "Normal" I'd say. Although I had a heavy foot with my hot hatches, I've somewhat modified my driving style with the switch to a 4X4.

Hi Ash3y, sounds like a problem I have/had. Only happened after a period of stop/start driving usually on a Friday as I do a fair bit of town center driving then. Here's my post:
