Thanks Steve, with all the different options on bulbs out there, those of us with limited/no technical knowledge have to rely on advice and suggestions from others. Last time the bulb failed, I did ask if it was worthwhile changing the make of bulb, only to be told that the bulb fitted as standard was not showing a generally high failure rate with other owners.

I never replaced a single bulb on any car Ive had over the last 50 years, until I had a FL2, maybe the bulbs they fit these days are just poor quality?? after all if they never blew they wouldnt sell many would they? and I think thats basically what it all about these days, how do we get more money in. |

I'm assuming that you have the halogen style HB3 bulb. As you have the led light unit regardless if you have signature lights or not all vehicles are fitted with one bulb/one element for dip and full beam. When you pop on full beam you will hear a faint mechanical shutter noise which is the shutter fully opening for full beam. My guess is that when driving on dip beam the shutter which covers half of the bulb may cause the bulb to heat up a fair bit hence the premature failure overtime MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior MY15 Xenon Headlight Conversion MY17 RRS SVR - Estoril Blue Cirrus/Ebony 🪣💺’s |

Never had this on my other Freelander but did on my second Jag , a couple of times and they're not easy to fit , |

I have never had a vehicle go through headlight bulbs like my LR2. I have tried multiple bulb makes, from cheap to really expensive. Some last only weeks!! The electronics all check out so I see no fix??

Had two headlamp bulbs go on same car last month. Incidentally when I had one go last year the car subsequently failed MOT on headlamp adjustment even though I had tried to put everything back in the correct position. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
