It does vary depending on the year of the vehicle but for us FL owners, the 2001 on regs apply. As an MOT tester I can definately confirm that you DO NOT need to have the makers name and postcode as per BS AU 145d to pass the test. As long as you have the correct background, font, spacing etc that is fine. However, if you have one marked up with BS AU 145d, that will comply.

Interesting.... I had my old Ford Focus failed on exactly that - ie no manufacturer/postcode on plates and so the plates were deemed unroadworthy...... This was back in 2008 though - perhaps the regs (or my memory) has changed since? |

Yes, that was the rules back then and you needed the V5 and personal I.D. just to buy a numberplate from a licensed supplier. They relaxed the rules a year or two ago. |
