Ive just fitted OE Land Rover fronts, yes you do have to do drilling, its exactly the same procedure as the repro ones youre looking at.

Someone has said in other mudflap threads that he fitted OE fronts, and aftermarket rears.

Yes Ive fitted OE fronts and the Powerful rears, I used extra fixing screws on the rears too rather than just rely on the 2 and a spring clip, the clip doesnt inspire confidence it will stay put for long somehow?. |

OEM needs the drilling and cutting to fit the fronts and no drilling or cutting to fit the rears. The front drilling (and cutting) is completely invisible with the mud flaps fitted. If subsequently removed the cutting remains invisible and the holes drilled just need a little bung to hide the holes. The rear clips seem perfectly ok - mine are on their second car and still need a bit of persuading to push all the way home, They are unlikely to fall off but, if they ever do I will use extra screws instead. |

Well its up to you, I mean if youre not going off road or likely to need to go up any high kerbs where they could get caught etc then the repro ones would be ok I guess??

I think you're right. Lets face it, its an expensive motor and you cant have cheap stuff bolted on. The rear repro flaps are ok, the fit is pretty good although I think OE might fit a bit tighter.

I'm pretty sure they are from the same source as OEM as they have the LR EGG logo ( blanked out) moulded into them Well worth the money and fitted straight on as per the video mentioned above No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS "Fiat Lux" a philosophy not a car |

For what it's worth my son does a lot of off roading in his job and his front mudflaps didn't last long before one was virtually torn off . We think that they were original equipment. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Depends on the roughness of the off roading I suppose, you can rip off an exhaust system too thats OE so that doesnt last long either, you have to exercise a certain degree of care with anything or it will end up wrecked. |
