I've had an older Freelander 1 before but after several in between cars I'm collecting a Freelander 2 on Thursday. 2007 Black, manual, HSE with bumper change and rear handle change. It's nice and tidy, good history and I'm really looking forward to it. This is a second car, and often will be a third but I've got a soft spot and intend on keeping this a good while.

I've lurked around a good while and found countless great threads covering just about everything, thanks.

Hi, Colin here again, as I am not quite sure of the procedures of queries for this site, please guide me if my questions are wrongly placed with this section.
Question 1:- Please, how can you tell if a 'latest' Updated Sat-Nav DvD Europe 2014/2015 purchased IS actually the 'latest' one and NOT just another SAME YEAR updated copy that I previously purchased 2 years ago?
Question 2:- Is there an deeper cowl attachment available to make the Sat-Nav touch screen more easier to read in the sunlight.

morning new to the forum, had my FL2 for over a year now... However got some issues with it so going to trawl through previous posts to see if I can find an answer to my problems!

Seems like it could be a number of things.... Reduced engine performance - urgh hoping it's not the turbo!

Thought I would say hello, trade my trusty D3 in on Thursday for a FR2 Metropolis in Zanzibar Gold, which is a bit of a hairdressers colour, but it did get me the car £1k cheaper! I have also owned 2 D1, 1 D2, a 101 and I currently still own a 110, so no newbie to the green oval! Member of Disco3.co.uk and the D3 club, as well as the 90,110 defender club and a responder with Northants 4x4 (NH65). I'm also a Scout Leader, slayer of Dragons and all round good egg....well egg shaped anyway!

From Ireland and have a freelander 2 td4 manual. Hoping to gain some info regarding modifying it, have just put a new set of bf Goodrich at ko on it. Next is underbody protection.

I was around here in 2008/9 when I had an FL2 SE in Tambora Flame. I sold it when I no longer needed a RHD car but I really liked the car apart from the fact that it did not have xenons and I never managed to retrofit them.
Now I'm back. I have just bought a LHD Si4 HSE auto in Havana with tan leather. The car was advertised in UK by a 4x4 dealer and had just been sold to them by LR with 500 kms on it. I've just driven the 1800 kms out here in 2 days and I must say I'm very happy with it. The ride, comfort and performance are outstanding for a heavy 4wd. Fuel consumption at 9L/100kms is ok too (I make that around 30mpg). I know that Havana is not to everyone's taste but what colour is? It looks great in sunlight and when it's dirty it just looks grey(ish). The specification has everthing I need and I now have my xenons plus LEDs on an FL2.
It's good to be back and good to see the FL2 community is alive and well.
